McCarthy joined Crystal Palace for £3million in August 2019 after enduring a difficult, injury-plagued spell with Everton.
The Republic of Ireland international played 133 times for the Toffees but a series of unfortunate injuries limited him to just 17 Premier League appearances since the 2016-17 season.
The 29-year-old has rebuilt his career with the Eagles, and proven his fitness concerns are behind him after making 35 appearances in all competitions this term.
And his displays have earned him attention from no less than four top-flight clubs.
Website 90min claim Leeds, Newcastle, West Ham and Aston Villa are all interested in recruiting McCarthy this summer.
It's reported that all four have spoken to Crystal Palace to discuss the player's availability.
The report suggests that Roy Hodgson's side would want around £8million for McCarthy, whose contract expires in June 2022.
David Moyes and Steve Bruce have supposedly held interest in the former Wigan midfielder for a 'long time' while Leeds believe he would add valuable top-flight experience to their ranks.
