Arsenal have reportedly won the battle to sign Dayot Upamecano from RB Leipzig with a fee already being agreed. The 21-year-old has established himself as one of Europe's most exciting prospects due to his performances at the back for Leipzig.
Leipzig have now reportedly told the Serie A side that Arsenal have won the race for his signature, who's contract is set to expire in 2021.
The report comes as some surprise though after Upamecano's agent appeared to rule out a move away from the Bundesliga side this summer.
"I don’t believe large transfers will take place this summer," Volker Struth told German outlet Sport 1 last month.
"And I think Upamecano is a player who will demand a large fee.
