Timo Werner: Pundit discusses potential transfer options
Liverpool have reportedly decided that they will not be activating Timo Werner's release clause. The striker is the club's No 1 transfer target heading into the summer window, permitting their finances allow them to spend.

That opportunity will expire on June 15, meaning Werner's fate will be in RB Leipzig hands once again.
Despite that, they are still likely to agree to a sale at the right price, given that Werner has made it clear on several occasions that he wants to test himself away from Germany.
Michael Edwards and the Liverpool hierarchy are now planning to test Leipzig's resolve by bidding below the clause.
That's because in 12 months' time, Werner's release clause will be slashed to £36m.

That could see them save up to £16m on the deal to the misfortune of Leipzig.
Former Liverpool midfielder Jan Molby believes the deal will still go ahead this summer, but he expects several departures.
"Yes I do [think Werner will come]," he said on Hotel Tia.
"I don't think there's going to be an awful lot of transfers happening this forthcoming summer, but I think that in many ways suits Liverpool.

"They've got a very strong squad at the moment. There will be one or two players leave, but we've got some young players that need to be introduced into the squad.
"So if Liverpool cannot spend any money I don't think it will be a big problem.
"Timo Werner eventually I think will come. I think his preferred choice is Liverpool."
Werner has laid on record the attraction of working under Jurgen Klopp.
The German boss is said to have spoken to his compatriot about a move to the club.
Since his arrival in October 2015, Liverpool have always played with pace and power in attack.
Molby is adamant that Werner's qualities suit Liverpool down to the ground.
"Also when I look at him, he is a top, top player, but I couldn't see him playing for Barcelona because they play in a different way, they play possession-based football. That is not his game," he added.
