Timo Werner: Pundit discusses potential transfer options
Liverpool are weighing up a deal for Timo Werner and while the transfer makes sense for many reasons, his arrival could have implications for the rest of the squad. Besides the current financial climate, all roads point towards Werner.

Werner is still expected to get better and under Klopp's stewardship, the results could be frightening.
However, from the outside, signing Werner would very much be a leap of faith from Klopp.
It's the first time in his Anfield tenure that he is adding a striker to the fray.
While Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino were once part of the 'Fab Four' with Philippe Coutinho, they have very much become accustomed to their trio in attack.

There has not been enough quality for them to be robbed of their place in the starting line up, allowing them to live comfortably.
It's worked to devastating effect and it's little wonder that Klopp hasn't felt the need to sign another attacker.
With Mane and Salah off to the African Cup of Nations next January, reinforcements are required.
There are huge questions as to where Werner fits into the team and whether his arrival could prompt a change in formation.
One thing is clear, he won't want to sit on the bench. Neither with Mane, Salah or Firmino.
That's where the problem lies. That's not to say Liverpool should not move for Werner as all top teams have world-class options across the board but the harmony of the squad would be at risk.
Mane, Salah and Firmino rarely find themselves out of the team and given their number of admirers in Europe, they won't stand for being subs.
Should Liverpool switch to a 4-2-3-1 to accommodate all four attackers, that's another midfielder who is out of the team.
Klopp will have of course considered all of this and ultimately, his judgement should not be questioned, but a deal for Werner would pose a risk for Liverpool. Given his quality, it's one worth taking.
