Jurgen Klopp has reportedly spoken with Timo Werner on several occasions to discuss a move to Liverpool and he looks to close a deal for his compatriot. The striker is set to make a decision on his future at the end of the current campaign, with RB Leipzig hoping to keep hold of their star man.
If recent months are anything to go by though, Werner looks destined to move to Liverpool should the Reds be willing to spend in the current financial climate.
He has continuously said on record that the prospect of a move to Anfield excites him, as does working under Klopp.
Before COVID-19 called a halt to Europe's top five leagues, Klopp was devising plans to meet with Werner.
It's a gesture that has helped him land several top targets before, including Virgil van Dijk and Sadio Mane.

There has been some suggestion that Werner would have to bide his time to work his way into the starting team.
Werner has already indirectly addressed those concerns, to put Liverpool at ease.
He said during an interview in February: “Yes I know that Liverpool is the best team in the moment in the world and when you’re linked with the team, it makes me very proud.
“In case of that, it’s a pleasure, but I know that in Liverpool play a lot of good players and I have to improve myself to learn much more things to get on this level to play there.”

Despite the club's reported determination to land Werner, Sky Sports reporter Vinny O'Connor claims there will be zero incomings at Anfield following COVID-19.
"From what we have been hearing, even going back to the January transfer window, this one is very unlikely," he said in a Liverpool Q&A on Sky Sports.
"During the last window I was told Liverpool had no plans to sign him then and no plans to sign him in the summer and recently that message was repeated with regards to when the next window opens.
"There has always been the caveat that Liverpool would be silly not to keep tabs on one of European football's hottest properties.
"Judging by the talk from Werner himself, it's a move he clearly fancies.
"The noises coming out of Anfield are that this one is not going to happen."
