Man Utd: Paul Pogba tipped by pundit to renew contract
Manchester United are open to giving Paul Pogba a new contract amid transfer interest from Real Madrid, report say. The France international’s future at Old Trafford is far from certain, with the 27-year-old wanting out. But with the coronavirus crisis set to impact clubs in this summer’s transfer window, he could still be at the club next season.
Manchester United star Pogba went public with his desire to leave last summer but, despite that, still wasn’t granted his wish.
He’s endured a frustrating campaign in the time since, with injury restricting the 27-year-old to just eight appearances across all competitions.
Pogba still wants to leave United behind with Real Madrid his preferred destination due to the fact Zinedine Zidane is manager.
But Diario Madridista claim United are still open to extending the midfielder’s contract, despite Ole Gunnar Solskjaer only wanting players fully committed to the cause.
Pogba feels his second cycle at United has ran its course.

Pogba won the EFL Cup and Europa League in his first season, shining under Jose Mourinho.
But he’s blown hot and cold in the years since while United, for their part, have got nowhere near winning the titles they crave.
Pogba is a divisive figure among supporters but he was recently defended by team-mate Bruno Fernandes, who is hoping to play alongside the 2018 World Cup winner.
"We can say in football that people normally forget what you do good when you have a mistake," Fernandes told United's official website.
"You can do good for 34 games, and one game you do bad and everyone will remember that.
"Paul is coming from a bad moment, because of the situation.
“When he played also, the club and the team was not good, because the expectations are high for Paul, because Paul is a top player and Manchester United pay a lot for him, and expectations are a lot for him.
"It's normal when you are in that situation you don't play like a superstar, because everyone expects from Paul like they expect from (Cristiano) Ronaldo at Juventus or (Lionel) Messi at Barcelona.
"Everyone expects this from Paul in Manchester, because they know he has the qualities for this.
“Also this is confidence in Paul. The team, we have a lot of confidence in Paul."
