Man Utd: Pundit discusses Solskjaer's transfer plans
Manchester United are hoping to hijack plans Tottenham have to sign Sunderland starlet Joe Hugill in the summer transfer window and are preparing a six-figure bid to bring the striker to Old Trafford.
Hugill is considering to be one of Sunderland's brightest prospects and despite being a 16-year-old, he has already appeared for the club's Under-23 side this season.
However, according to The Sun, United have already made contact with Sunderland about a deal that would see the striker swap the Stadium of Light for Old Trafford this summer.
The report claims Hugill could be sold for a six-figure fee.
Tottenham had been in pole position to sign Hugill but now risk losing out to United.

Villa CEO Christian Purslow recently hailed the midfielder as “probably the best 16-year-old in England right now”.
The Villans hope they can persuade Chukwuemeka to commit his future to the club after they laid out a clear path to first-team football for the youngster if he stays.

However, the allure of a move to a top Premier League club could be too great to keep him at the club, with United vying with Liverpool and Manchester City for his signature.
United are also interested in Birmingham City starlet Jude Bellingham.
The 16-year-old has already broken into the first-team at St Andrew's and has scored four goals and provided three assists in 35 appearances for the club this campaign.
