Man United: Henderson return 'depends on De Gea' says pundit
A Manchester United coach believes Matej Kovar is good enough to compete with David De Gea, Dean Henderson and Sergio Romero for a starting berth despite his young age, reports say. The 19-year-old has impressed at youth level and signed for the club in January 2018. And he’s highly-rated at Old Trafford.
Manchester United currently have a plethora of goalkeeping talent at their disposal.
De Gea has endured a rocky campaign by his high standards but remains a vital player for the Red Devils, helping them shut out opposition defences with some fine displays in recent weeks.
On loan at Sheffield United is Henderson, who has impressed to such an extent that he could become the Red Devils’ No 1 next season.
And Romero is a capable pair of hands, with the Argentina international one of the best back-up goalkeepers in world football.
United also have Kieran O’Hara on loan at Burton Albion, where the youngster has impressed during a loan spell.
And The Athletic say that a club coach believes Kovar is good enough to be playing at the very top already, despite being just 19.

Solskjaer has, though, given academy prospects a chance throughout his short time at United so far.
Mason Greenwood and Brandon Williams have been the biggest success stories, with the duo now established in the first-team.
And Tahith Chong and Angel Gomes have also been given opportunities in order to prove their worth.
United coach Kieran McKenna recently hailed the club’s tradition of giving youth a chance, saying: “I think all clubs want and like to have youth players come through but at United it is a necessity.
“Recently we passed 4000 games, going back to 1937, where there has always been an academy graduate in the first team match day squad.

“That record is pretty much unparalleled across the world and that is something the club and the supporters are massively proud of.
“You can see that connection with the crowd when there is a home grown player on the pitch.
“It is a huge part of the club and it is a credit to all the people who have helped to keep that run going.
“I think this year we have again had the most academy graduates of any club playing in the first team and, on a personal note, to have so many boys who I worked with when I was in the youth team set up who have now been getting that opportunity with the first team is a real positive.
“I think everyone at the club is determined to continue that.”
