Sanchez failed to reproduce the form he had shown while at Barcelona and Arsenal for United who, as a result of his abysmal performances, decided to ship him off to Inter.
United face a very significant problem regarding Sanchez and that is his reported £400,000-a-week, which was given to him when he joined from Arsenal in January 2018.
This contract runs until 2022 and while there are not many teams who can afford his wages, his poor form in front of goal is also limiting the teams who are interested in him.

However, according to Italian publication FCInterNews, West Ham have made an enquiry with Sanchez's agent, Fernando Felicevich.
If United do manage to offload Sanchez it would significantly improve the club's transfer plans, as they would be taking one of the club's highest earners of their books.

"Alexis will come back in the summer and prove you all wrong," the Norwegian previously said.
Sanchez has struggled to make an impact while at Inter, although this wasn't helped by the forward suffering an ankle injury that sidelined for him for around three months.
Despite that, he has only scored one goal and has provided three assists in 15 appearances for the Nerazzurri this campaign.
This form comes off the back of his time at United, where he managed to find the back of the net just five times in 45 appearances for the Red Devils.

Whether Sanchez will once again wear a United kit remains to be seen, but Solskjaer is still looking to strengthen his attacking options when the transfer window opens.
Despite signing Bruno Fernandes from Sporting Lisbon in January the club are still looking to bring in another midfielder as well as other exploring other attacking options.
Borussia Dortmund's Jadon Sancho appears to be high on their shortlist of targets as does Aston Villa's Jack Grealish.
The Red Devils have also made moves to try and secure the services of Birmingham City's 16-year-old midfielder Jude Bellingham, but do face stiff competition for most of their transfer targets.
