Donny van de Beek: Pundits discuss player leaving Ajax
Manchester United have reportedly made a last-ditch offer to sign Ajax star Donny van de Beek despite Real Madrid being in advanced negotiations with the midfielder.
United are expected to lose Jesse Lingard and potentially Paul Pogba this summer so Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be in the market for midfield reinforcements.
Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish was thought to be high on the United chief’s wishlist, as is Leicester ace James Maddison.
But Spanish publication Marca claim the Red Devils will push forward with a bid for Van de Beek.
The 22-year-old supposedly has an agreement with Real to move to the Bernabeu this summer.
However, United are apparently trying to persuade the Dutchman to snub a move to the Spanish capital in favour of Manchester.

Van de Beek was a key component of the Ajax side which reached the Champions League semi-finals last season.
And he has made 50 appearances for club and country this season, prior to the enforced coronavirus break.
There are strong reports that Van de Beek has a pre agreement with Real which will be activated when the transfer window reopens.
But the rising star rejected those claims during an interview in January.
