Timo Werner: Pundits discuss possible transfer to Liverpool
Liverpool have been backed to complete the signing of Timo Werner by Norwegian journalist and former Premier League striker Jan Aage Fjortoft. The claim comes after Bayern Munich were linked with a move for the German striker, something Fjortoft was keen to shut down.

He has struck 20 goals in the Bundesliga this season meaning his stock is incredibly high.
Chelsea were strongly linked with a lucrative January swoop for Werner, but to his credit he made it clear that he would not consider a move mid-season.
Leipzig CEO Oliver Mintzlaff has started to grow frustrated with speculation though and has urged his striker to make a decision on his future as soon as possible.
"I can also understand that it is difficult for Timo," Mintzlaff told Sport Bild.

"But you have to make decisions in life, and Timo’s will be there in a timely manner, we’re convinced. We still want a contract extension.
“[Werner leaving] is not desirable, especially as it was also discussed differently with his advisor.
"We do not sit at the wheel, but can only make offers and wait.
"Everything else is not our control. If Timo did not renew, we would like to get a replacement.
"There are many interested parties. International top clubs have also requested [to speak to him].”
