Mauricio Pochettino is waiting in the wings to take over from Guardiola if he leaves.
The Argentine hasn’t managed since being fired by Tottenham during November, and is believed to have his eyes on the Manchester United job as well as City.
But the lack of Champions League football could hamper their chances of securing his signature, if Guardiola leaves.
For the Spaniard, he will have no shortage of clubs lining up to give him his next role in management, and Express Sport has analysed the best three options for him.

The Spaniard’s former club could decide to bail on Quique Setien after only a matter of months if Guardiola becomes available.
Guardiola reportedly had the chance to return to Barcelona earlier this season after Ernesto Valverde was fired.
A report in the Sunday Mirror claimed Barca were determined to bring him back to the Nou Camp, and Guardiola could opt to move back to be closer to his wife, who apparently returned to Catalonia last year.
Despite them hiring Setien, they would still presumably jump at the chance to poach Guardiola if he opts to leave City.

But they certainly have enough money to get Guardiola, and are desperate to win the Champions League for the first time in their history.
Thomas Tuchel has faced constant speculation over his job security in the last couple of seasons, with rumours suggesting he could be fired at the end of the season after rows with Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.
Winning Ligue 1 isn’t enough for PSG’s owners, and the Champions League is the ultimate goal. Bringing Guardiola to the helm would be the perfect statement of intent if they want to do that.
