Bruno Fernandes 'could change the fortunes of Man Utd' says fan
Bruno Fernandes is expected to seal his transfer from Sporting Lisbon to Manchester United imminently. But reports claim how much Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wanted the Portugal international before this month is uncertain.
Fernandes is set to finally join Manchester United after the club finally made a breakthrough in negotiations with Sporting Lisbon on Tuesday.
The Red Devils have agreed to pay their Primeira Liga counterparts an up front fee of £46.6million - and a further £8.5m in add-ons.
It has brought to an end a saga that has dominated the January transfer window.
United’s interest has been well-publicised and their dawdling over Fernandes has angered many fans who are already disenchanted with life under Ed Woodeward and the Glazers.
And the Evening Standard say it’s uncertain as to how much Solskjaer wanted the player before the month opened.

And they’re now expected to land Fernandes, whether he was initially on Solskjaer’s radar or not.
The Norwegian snapped when he was asked about the prospect of signing the 25-year-old early on Tuesday morning.
"I haven’t got any updates for you on transfers," he said when quizzed on the matter.
"I think it was a waste [of a question], I gave you the option. I haven’t got anything to say now, my mind is on the game.”
Meanwhile, Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol last night opened up on the role Woodward played in getting the Fernandes deal agreed.

“It is great news for Ed Woodward because we’re being told tonight that he’s personally agreed this deal with the Sporting director of football Hugo Viana,” Solhekol said on Sky Sports News.
“So he is the one who has been driving this deal.
“A lot of people have been criticising him about the fact that his record apparently in the transfer market has been a bit hit and miss.
“But this is not just fantastic news for Manchester United supporters and the club, but also for Ed Woodward.”
