Cooper added that a deal will likely be done by transfer deadline day, at least, before stating that United are after a striker too.
The club’s only recognised striker at the moment is Mason Greenwood, as Marcus Rashford will be out until March with a back injury.
"So although nothing is moving on that deal at the moment you could see a case where it comes down to the wire on transfer deadline day and a deal is done because it suits all parties.
"On top of that, Manchester United need a striker.
