Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has shed some light on his talks with Manchester United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward. The Norwegian is currently on the lookout for reinforcements to boost his side’s chances of a top-four finish this season.

“I’m going to stick to what I’ve been entrusted to do by the club and hopefully they can see what we’re doing is right.
“All my talks with the club have been positive.”
Solskjaer’s future at Old Trafford is currently up in the air following a torrid run of form this season, in which United have lost eight of their 24 Premier League matches.
The former Molde boss has come under intense criticism in recent weeks but insists he’s not letting it get to him.

He said: “You must be stronger mentally than anywhere else in the world and I feel that I am.
“We can’t react to all the noise outside — there will always be criticism.
“The club is strong, the staff are strong mentally. So we’re sticking to what we believe and I’ve got full faith in what we’re doing.”
Manchester United will be back in action on Sunday afternoon, travelling to Liverpool to take on Tranmere Rovers in the fourth round of the FA Cup.

United enter the match on the back of consecutive defeats to Liverpool and Burnley, the latter of whom humbled them 2-0 at Old Trafford on Wednesday night.
Solskjaer accepts full responsibility for the loss to the Clarets saying: “I’m responsible for what is happening on the pitch, we're looking to strengthen, we need to strengthen. We know that.
"We took the decision to let some players go as we needed to start afresh with a clear sight on the target in front of us which is a certain type of player.
"We know we need to get quality in and numbers in.”
