Kalidou Koulibaly shows defensive skills for Napoli in Serie A
Tottenham have reportedly moved in pole position to sign Kalidou Koulibaly ahead of Real Madrid in retaliation to the La Liga giants rejecting a loan proposal for Luka Jovic. Tottenham are looking to follow up the signing of Gedson Fernandes with more recruits in the January window.
Koulibaly would certainly come with some pedigree as he has been one of the best central defenders in world football.
Napoli have seemingly accepted the time will come when Koulibaly will leave the club with the club president admitting earlier in the season the defender could soon be on the move.
Tottenham had also been strongly linked with a surprise move to bring Gareth Bale back to the club.
But the Wales international's agent, Jonathan Barnett, has rubbished those reports.
"He's got another two-and-a-half years left on his contract, and he's fine," he said at the Association of Football Agents meeting in London.
