Chelsea: Kepa Arrizabalaga ‘has to be better’ says Moreno
Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga must prove he is good enough for Frank Lampard’s side in the remaining months of the season, says former Blues midfielder and academy coach Joe Cole. Kepa joined Chelsea from Athletic Bilbao in the summer of 2018 for a world-record transfer fee for a goalkeeper of £71.6million. The Spaniard has been a regular under both Maurizio Sarri and Lampard during his first 18 months in west London.

“So I think for him if he wants a career at Chelsea… It’s nothing glaring but I just think teams are starting to target him, they’re starting to put balls into the box.
“So for the Kepa situation, for himself, he needs to address this, coming from crosses.”
Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand played under David de Gea during his early days at Old Trafford.
And he has compared the situation to Kepa’s at Chelsea right now.

“What you need is a goalkeeper that breeds confidence throughout that backline especially,” Ferdinand said.
“I played centre-back, you need a keeper that dominates that penalty box, a keeper that is vocal, who communicates and who is assertive.
“Make a decision, come out and go for it. Early stages [of De Gea at United] I knew teams were targeting him, you could feel it, you could hear teams talking about it - ‘Put it on the goalkeeper’.
“It’s the responsibility of other people to get you out of the muck there.
