Danny Ings to Tottenham would be a ‘great signing’ says pundit
Tottenham need to reconsider their links to Fernando Llorente during the January transfer window. Italian media have linked Jose Mourinho's side with a move for the Napoli forward after he chose to leave in the summer, something that Paul Robinson isn't happy with.
The 34-year-old scored 13 goals in 66 appearances for the club between 2017 and 2019, including a dramatic winner in their Champions League quarter-final win over Manchester City.
Gazzetta have linked the former Spanish international with a return to England as he struggles to impress in Serie A.
Llorente has scored only four goals in his 18 outings, and could be handpicked by Spurs chairman Daniel Levy as a temporary replacement for the injured Harry Kane.
Robinson told Football Insider when asked if his former club should pursue the move: “No that’s not the answer at all!

“He left for a reason, he didn’t score the goals, and he didn’t fill the role when Harry Kane wasn’t there.
“I think Krzysztof Piatek at AC Milan is the type of player they should be looking at, he’s the one, obviously Ibrahimovic has gone in there, so there may be an opportunity to get him.
“He’s young, he’s No.9, he’s tall, he leads the line.
“So I certainly wouldn’t look at Llorente, he’s not the answer, I’d look at someone like Piatek instead.”

Despite the links to both Llorente and Piatek coming after Kane was ruled out until April, former Manchester United and Chelsea boss Mourinho has remained coy over potential transfers so far this month.
Mourinho told talkSPORT when asked if he is desperate to add new players this month: “No.
“I think Daniel Levy today is proud of the players because of what the players did.
“He’s proud of one kid [Japhet Tanganga] that come from the academy and showed the world he is a new player for the Premier League level.
