Leeds transfer news: Che Adams is on Leeds' radar (Image: GETTY)
Leeds are hoping to get two deals over the line this month as Marcelo Bielsa hopes to push on and seal promotion. Leeds are top of the Championship - level on points with West Brom - and hold a nine point lead over third place Brentford and fourth place Nottingham Forrest.
But Bielsa is still keen for more fire power this month after allowing Eddie Nketiah to return to Arsenal and wants a deal for Che Adams to join the club.
Adams signed for Southampton in the summer but has struggled to make an impact and could be keen on a switch for more game time.
And, according to the Athletic, Leeds are confident they can get a deal for him this month despite Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl’s reluctance to lose him.
Leeds also face a battle from West Brom and Nottingham Forrest for his signature, but Leeds believe they are leading the race.
Adams has made eight Premier League starts and seven sub appearances since sealing a £15m move from Birmingham in the summer.
But Danny Ings has been Southampton’s leading marksman as they try and fend off relegation.

However Bielsa has been pleased with the way back up stopper Illan Meslier has performed and is ready to back him.
Initially Leeds wanted an experienced head to help Meslier along but now, according to the Athletic, Bielsa is keen on a younger keeper who would provide back up and then drop back into the under-23s.
It is believed Chievo’s Elia Caprile, who is yet to feature for the first team, is the top target and could be signed this month.
