Man Utd: Erling Haaland move to club discussed by experts
It’s curious that Manchester United have allowed themselves to answer questions on Erling Haaland. After all, in the past, they’ve preferred to keep transfer business to themselves.
United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has answered questions on Haaland when they’ve been pitched to him.
Most recently, there was the rumour that he was on his way to Manchester for talks. Instead of insisting there was nothing in it, the Norwegian instead chose a rather odd response.
"Well, he is not coming to Manchester because... well, I know the boy and I know his friends and all this. He's on a Christmas holiday.
"No (not in Manchester) but you can't fly anywhere from Stavanger, can you, so you need to go via via...!"
Solskjaer had previously appeared to confirm interest in the 19-year-old.
"He is a player I like,” he said.

"Erling has had a good development, so he has to develop further wherever he decides.
"I don’t need to talk so much about him, but we as a team always look for players who can complement the others we have, and then we see what we end up with.”
But how odd is that?
United rarely answer questions on transfers. Usually it’s a simple ‘no comment’ or ‘I can’t talk about players from other teams’.
And, in the past, United have chosen to allow themselves to answer questions on transfer targets - but only when they’ve been interested in someone else.
