Manchester United are ‘interested’ in Maddison says pundit
Manchester United have been backed to complete a transfer deal for Leicester star James Maddison providing they pay enough. The Red Devils have the England international on their list of targets as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer eyes January reinforcements.
Manchester United have been impressed by Maddison’s form this season, with the Leicester star propelling Brendan Rodgers’ side to second in the Premier League table.
The England international has scored five goals and registered three assists from 15 games so far, prompting interest from Tottenham as well as the Red Devils.
And former Premier League star Danny Murphy reckons that Maddison is ‘gone’ if United stump up the cash.
He told Sky Sports: “You cannot tell me there’s a young English footballer at Leicester who will turn down United. Not gonna happen.
“If United come in for James Maddison, and pay enough, he’s gone.

But United will no doubt fancy their chances of getting a deal done, particularly after raiding the Foxes for Harry Maguire back in the summer.
Former United midfielder Kleberson, meanwhile, isn’t so sure whether Maddison would be an Old Trafford hit.
"I don’t think it would be great for Maddison to join United," the 2002 World Cup winner said recently.
"They [Leicester] have had a good start to the season but when you do a big jump from a smaller club to United, it is mentally tough for these players.
"They have to be able to learn to adapt to play at a big club. It will be interesting to see if they can, but I don’t know if he will be a good enough signing for United."

United legend Gary Pallister thinks differently, however.
“There was a lot of talk about him in the press,” Pallister said.
“He’s the type of player who can take Man United to the next level. However, Ole needs to try his best for now to squeeze the best out of the squad he has for the next few months.”
Maddison is expected to feature when Leicester go up against his old side, Norwich, on Saturday (3pm).
United, meanwhile, are next in action against AZ Alkmaar tonight (8pm).
