Manchester United are ‘interested’ in Maddison says pundit
Manchester United will have to pay at least £100million to sign a transfer deal for Leicester star James Maddison in January, according to reports. The England international has been in sensational form this season, driving the Foxes up to second in the Premier League table.
Manchester United are big admirers of Maddison, with his signing even endorsed by staff behind the scenes at Old Trafford.
The Leicester star has flourished for the Foxes at the King Power Stadium this season, scoring five goals and weighing in with three assists from 15 Premier League matches so far.
Yet the Athletic say United will have to make Maddison the most-expensive player in their history if they're to bring him to Old Trafford.
Leicester charged the Red Devils a massive £80m to land Harry Maguire in the summer.
And it will take even more than that to secure Maddison's signature.

Meanwhile, United legend Gary Pallister recently urged his old side to do everything to bring Maddison to the club.
“There was a lot of talk about him in the press,” Pallister said.
“He’s the type of player who can take Man United to the next level. However, Ole needs to try his best for now to squeeze the best out of the squad he has for the next few months.”
United flop Kleberson, however, isn't so convinced.
"I don’t think it would be great for Maddison to join United," the 2002 World Cup winner said.

"They [Leicester] have had a good start to the season but when you do a big jump from a smaller club to United, it is mentally tough for these players.
"They have to be able to learn to adapt to play at a big club. It will be interesting to see if they can, but I don’t know if he will be a good enough signing for United."
Maddison is expected to feature when Leicester go up against his old side, Norwich, on Saturday (3pm).
United, meanwhile, are next in action against AZ Alkmaar on Thursday (8pm).
