Man Utd: Donny van de Beek interested in transfer says expert
Manchester United were keen on signing Ajax star Donny van de Beek but reportedly think the Ajax star is poised to join Real Madrid at the end of the season, reports say. The midfielder has been in fine form this season, scoring five goals and registering four assists from 14 Eredivisie matches.
Manchester United remain on the lookout for reinforcements in the middle of the park, with the club still yet to sign a replacement for Marouane Fellaini or Ander Herrera.
Both players left the club earlier this year and, despite links to the likes of Bruno Fernandes, Saul Niguez and Declan Rice, the Red Devils didn't bring anyone in.
The Daily Mail say that United were contemplating a move for Van de Beek, who has been in sensational form for Ajaz over the past 12 months.
But they now expect the Holland international to end up at Real Madrid instead.
Los Blancos, like United, were being backed to move for the midfielder at the end of last season.

But they didn't manage to sign van de Beek because of their interest in Red Devils star Paul Pogba.
Pogba is reportedly still keen on a move to Real but, with the La Liga titans likelier to sign van de Beek, it's unlikely they'll go for the United star as well.
The Ajax star would offer Real a goal threat in the middle of the park with Toni Kroos, Casemiro and Luka Modric's strengths lying elsewhere.
Van de Beek was coy on his future when quizzed on a transfer before, saying: "My situation is I have a contract with Ajax and I'm really happy.
