Manchester City v Burnley: Pep Guardiola previews match
Manchester City temporarily moved back up to second in the Premier League with an impressive 4-1 win over Burnley at Turf Moor. The victory closes the gap on Liverpool to eight points, although the Reds face Everton at Anfield tomorrow.
Gabriel Jesus put the reigning champions into the lead with a sublime finish after 24 minutes, having been picked out by the superb David Silva.
And Jesus doubled the lead with his second of the game, diverting Bernardo Silva’s cross beyond Nick Pope in the Clarets goal.
Rodri hammered in a third with a vicious strike while substitute Riyad Mahrez fired an excellent fourth in before Robbie Brady scored a late consolation for the home side.

Added a burly presence in midfield but was also excellent on the ball, retaining and recycling possession.
Capped a fine display with a thunderous volley that goes down as one of the goals of the season so far.
CM: Kevin De Bruyne – 7
Very bright in the opening stages, fizzing the ball around in midfield and causing problems with his movement.
Got clattered in the build up to the opener but shook off the knock to dictate the tempo before being given a break in the closing 10 minutes.
CM: David Silva – 7
So tidy in possession and found great space in the final third to string attacks together.
Didn’t grab the game by the scruff of the neck like he can do but was still an integral cog in the City machine.
RAM: Bernardo Silva – 8
A dazzling display from the Portuguese ace, who was at the heart of much of City’s good work.
Bernardo provided two assists – including a delightful cross for Jesus’ second – and probably should have got on the scoresheet himself.
LAM: Raheem Sterling – 6
A quieter evening for the England international as his team-mates stole the limelight.
Marked very closely by the Burnley rearguard and rarely found space to threaten, although his pace kept the Clarets on their toes.
ST: Gabriel Jesus – 9
Offered the chance to impress in Sergio Aguero’s absence and took it with both hands, scoring two brilliant goals and going within inches of completing a hat-trick in an excellent performance.
