Arsenal fear they will miss out on Brendan Rodgers despite £14m Leicester release clause
Arsenal fear that they won’t be able to steal Brendan Rodgers from Leicester and appoint him to become the club’s next manager, despite the Foxes boss admitting he has a £14m release clause in his contract.
Arsenal: Pundit claims Brendan Rodgers 'wants the job'
Arsenal are worried that Brendan Rodgers won’t be leaving Leicester City to take over at the Emirates Stadium. The Gunners have been laying in-roads to see whether he’d be willing to leave the King Power Stadium, but it appears that the manager is happy to stay with the Foxes.

The Northern Irishman admitted that he has a £14m release clause in his contract, but he’s still fully committed to Leicester.
Arsenal had already been linked with the former Celtic and Liverpool boss, but Rodgers claimed that he didn’t mind the speculation.
“My focus is very much here with Leicester,” he said.
“The club has been first class with me. The project feels very exciting with a lot of development ahead. So my concentration is very much with Leicester.
“I’ve been so happy to work with the players and I feel we still have a lot of work to do.

“Most managers’ contracts will have something in [like a release clause], but my focus is here.
“[The speculation] doesn’t annoy me. I don’t think so much about it,” he added.
“It’s not in my control. I came here to help the project and see if we could bring it forward.
“I’m at a great club. I absolutely love it here. It seems now you’re talking about managers losing their jobs all the time and looking to be replaced.
“Names will get thrown right, left and centre. For the Arsenal job there are probably about 10 names. Me, I’m just concentrating on Leicester.”

Meanwhile, Arsenal are searching for a new manager after the club decided to sack Unai Emery last week.
The Gunners went seven games without a win in all competitions, and they’ve now slipped down to eighth in the Premier League table.
Freddie Ljungberg has taken over on an interim basis, while the Emirates hierarchy search for Emery’s successor.
A number of managers have been linked with the job, including Massimiliano Allegri, Mikel Arteta, Mauricio Pochettino, Eddie Howe, and Nuno Espirito Santo.
