Andre Gomes: Everton manager Silva addresses injury
Andre Gomes suffered a shocking injury during Everton’s 1-1 draw with Tottenham at Goodison Park.
Gomes was tackled by Spurs star Son on the left flank and made contact with Serge Aurier when he fell on the pitch.
Fans and players then watched in shock as the Everton ace’s ankle was twisted 90 degrees to the right from its normal position and his team-mates rushed to his side to console him.
Son was devastated as he broke down in tears while Aurier started praying for the Portugal international who was stretchered off of the pitch amid a standing ovation from the crowd at Goodison Park.

The South Korea international was shown a red card by referee Martin Atkinson and was still inconsolable inside the dressing room after the final whistle.
Dele Alli said during a post-match interview: “I didn’t want to look too much at what happened [to Gomes].
“All I can do is send him my best wishes and wish him a quick recovery.
“I just went into the changing room now and [Son] is devastated, he’s in tears but it’s not his fault.

“Like I’ve said so many times before, Sonny’s one of the nicest people you could ever meet and he’d never mean to do something like that.
“If you see his reaction in there, he can’t even lift his head up he’s crying that much in there.
“But obviously it’s not something you want to see happen to anyone so just have to send our best to him [Gomes].”
Jamie Carragher doesn’t think Son's challenge warranted a dismissal despite the horrific outcome.
