Salah was unusually quiet against Leicester with Sadio Mane putting Liverpool 1-0 up in the first half.
But Liverpool’s 100 per cent start to the season looked seriously under threat when James Maddison equalised with just 10 minutes left.
Even more of a concern though was when Salah hit the deck in stoppage time following a strong challenge from Hamza Choudhury.
The Egypt international was on the floor clutching at his left ankle in clear agony.

After receiving some treatment, he got back to his feet but quickly gestured towards the bench to be substituted.
There was more drama though minutes later when Sadio Mane was adjudged to have been brought down in the box, awarding Liverpool a last-gasp chance to seal all three points.
Up stepped James Milner who sent Kasper Schmeichel the wrong way to maintain Liverpool’s perfect start and move eight points ahead of Manchester City.
Fortunately for Liverpool regarding Salah’s knock they haven’t got a game for two weeks now with the international break.
But when they return to action, Liverpool take on Manchester United before hosting Tottenham and then Arsenal in the League Cup fourth round.
Jurgen Klopp though was clearly furious with the recklessness of Hamza Choudhury’s challenge on Salah.
