Liverpool set to sign Simon Mignolet replacement as Jurgen Klopp eyes third summer deal
LIVERPOOL boss Jurgen Klopp is set to sign former West Ham star Adrian as a replacement for Simon Mignolet, after the back-up goalkeeper completed a transfer to Club Brugge.
He conceded 167 goals in the league during his six year spell at the Hammers, and kept 36 clean sheets.
West Ham signed Adrian from Real Betis on a free transfer in 2013, and became a firm number one at the club, even keeping out England international Joe Hart during his loan spell from Manchester City in 2017/2018.
Adrian had been linked with a move to Liverpool after it became clear that Mignolet would be leaving Anfield this summer.
Cardiff City's Neil Etheridge was another name thrown into the mix, but Klopp ultimately chose to sign the free agent, instead of spending cash on the Championship stopper.

The Belgian moves back to his homeland in a £6.4m deal, having made just two appearances for Liverpool last season.
Mignolet was close to leaving Anfield last summer, after Napoli agreed to take him on loan. But the deal ultimately fell through after Loris Karius was allowed to join Besiktas.
The former Liverpool No 1 was on the bench for the Reds' Community Shield defeat to City on Sunday. That same evening, Club Brugge announced they had signed "one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League".

Adrian will be Klopp's third signing of the summer, having spent just £1.7m.
The Reds signed PEC Zwolle centre-back Sepp van den Berg for £1.7m earlier this summer, while also confirming a deal for Fulham's Harvey Elliott last week.
16-year-old Elliott was the youngest player to ever featured in a Premier League fixture, when he came on as a substitute in the Cottagers' match against Wolves in May.
Elliott also attracted attention from Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Arsenal and Man City before signing for Liverpool.
