Manchester United: Daniel James joins pre-season training
The Manchester United winger travelled with the squad on their pre-season tour of Australia and has passed the first test required of new players - the initiation process of singing a song in front of their new team-mates.
James, who signed for United in a deal worth £15m from Championship side Swansea, sang a version of Uncle Kracker's 'Follow Me’.
In footage shared by Angel Gomes on Instagram, James can be seen holding a spoon while stood on a chair and as he attempts to sing the song and his team-mates begin to clap along.
The Wales international fared a little better than fellow new signing Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who failed to impress with his rendition of rapper Nav’s ‘Tap’.
The player who received the highest approval from his fellow team-mates was midfielder Scott McTominay.
The 22-year-old belted out a short version of the Bill Withers classic ‘Ain’t No Sunshine’, which instantly received applause and towel waving from his team-mates before loud cheers from the group as he finished the song.
Although James might not have been too impressive with his vocal talents, the winger has impressed the United staff with his speed, as they posted a video of him completing a sprint test during their pre-season training in Perth.
James could be in line to make his first appearance in a Red Devils shirt, when United face Perth Glory on Saturday (12pm).

The 21-year-old only made his professional debut back in February 2018 and the Swansea academy player didn’t have to wait long before being called up to represent his country.
United legend and Wales boss Ryan Giggs gave James his international debut in November that same year and since then he has gone on to make four appearances for his country and has scored one goal.
James insisted the Premier League is the best place for him to develop his game after securing his transfer to United.
“This is one of the best days of my life and a challenge I am really looking forward to,” he said upon signing for his new club.
