The 26-year-old has already made it clear to United that he wants to leave the club after falling down the pecking order behind Marcus Rashford, who recently signed a new £200,000-a-week contract.
Inter Milan have shown a lot of interest in Lukaku, with their new boss Antonio Conte seeing the target man as the ideal person to lead the line for the Nerazzurri next season.
United are believed to want at least the same amount they paid for Lukaku two years ago, when they signed him from Everton for £75million after he scored 25 Premier League goals for the Toffees in 2016-17.

However, according to The Sun, Solskjaer has told Lukaku to stay at the club and if he chooses to, he’ll be given a chance to reclaim the No 9 position.
Lukau has previously spoken about his desire to play in Serie A but the club have so far failed in their attempts to reach an agreement with United over a fee.
However, it is understood the Belgium international has already agreed a £180,000-a-week deal with the Italian club and is exciting about working Conte.
There were reports Inter were considering making an offer of a two-year loan deal worth around £9m after which they would be obligated to buy Lukaku for £54m, however, this was abandoned given United’s preference to receive a fee upfront.

Conte also looked at the possibility of a player swap for Lukaku, however, United rejected the possibility of striker Mauro Icardi or midfielder Radja Nainggolan being included in any deal.
Inter haven’t given up in their pursuit of Lukaku and reports coming out of Italy suggest Inter executives have scheduled a trip to England to reopen talks with United.
And with negotiations set to begin again, Conte is hopeful he will get his man, who has scored 42 goals in 96 games in all competitions during his time at United.
Lukaku understands that a lack of regular football next season could also jeopardise his place in the national side.
