Man Utd transfer boost as Sporting boss says keeping Bruno Fernandes ‘will be difficult’
MANCHESTER UNITED were handed a boost in their pursuit of Bruno Fernandes as Sporting Lisbon manager Marcel Keizer admitted it ‘will be difficult’ to keep him.
“It's going to be difficult to keep him. He's on vacation, we'll see what happens."
While holidaying 165 miles south of Lisbon at The Lake Resort, Fernandes posted a reflective message on Instagram about last season, which led some to believe it was a cryptic goodbye message.
Alongside a video chronicling his European record 31 goals during the 2018/19 campaign, it read: “An unforgettable time! The achievements in the League Cup and in the Portugal Cup at team level, crowned with a personal record!
“UEFA's top scorer in recent years [pray emoji]. Thank you all for your contribution. Without you this would not be possible.”

Bruno Fernandes: Krithinas predicts who will sign star
Fernandes, who has four years left on his Sporting contract, is not desperate to leave the club but has said it is his “dream” to play in England.
Fernandes is valued at £62.2million (€70m) and, breaking down the situation, Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol said on Wednesday: “A lot of their transfer strategy depends on what happens with [Pogba and Lukaku].
“But other players will be coming into United. The next one, if not Maguire, could be Bruno Fernandes.
“The Sporting midfield player has been playing so well for Portugal. A lot of big clubs are after him and his agent says that United have been in touch.”
