Rangers bosses will not be granting Gerrard a big transfer budget this summer if Morelos is to remain at Ibrox.
However, that won’t have any bearing on any deal to bring Olsson to the club with the defender available on a free transfer after being released by Swansea City at the expiration of his contract last month.
Swedish outlet Expressen have claimed that Rangers are one of several clubs to show their interest in the former Premier League man, who is keen to add join a new club sooner rather than later in pre-season.
In regards to Morelos, fans will be pleased to hear that Eintracht Frankfurt will not be pursing the Colombian as part of their plans to replace Real Madrid’s new signing Luka Jovic.
According to the Daily Record, the 22-year-old will only leave Scotland if Champions League football is on the table, which has ruled out Frankfurt as well as Nice and Marseille.
When asked about the future of the 30-goal striker prior to the end of the season, assistant boss Gary McAllister made the club’s stance clear, but also offered the player a warning.
"Alfredo has had an amazing season,” he said.
"He's a player who I think has got loads of potential and going down the line there's a top, top international footballer there.

"Just be patient, he'll be OK. We have to remember, he's still only 22 so he has plenty of time.
"Hopefully missing out is a lesson. He's a young man and he's got to be learning and taking everything on board.
"There's been a lot said about the fella. We try as a coaching staff to advise, senior players in the dressing room speak to him as well.”
Morelos, who received five red cards in all competitions last season, was criticised by his manager Gerrard during the season and even suggested that he had decided to let the striker leave.
