Man United: De Ligt would be a 'good fit' at Reds says Stam
Manchester United want to sign De Ligt, despite there long being an expectancy that the Ajax powerhouse will move to Barcelona at the end of the season.
The Holland international’s stock is at an all-time high after a remarkable campaign, where he won the Eredivisie title and played in the Champions League semi-finals.
Manchester United are willing to break the bank for De Ligt, and hope their personal relationship with Edwin van der Sar gets a deal done.
Barcelona also want the 19-year-old - but not at any price.
And Mundo Deportivo say the club have adopted a stance of De Ligt or nothing this summer.
Barcelona see his signing as an opportunity, and the Holland international is viewed as the long-term replacement for Gerard Pique at the heart of their defence.
But if De Ligt snubs them for United, they will stick with what they have.
Samuel Umtiti is likely to stay, with suitors Arsenal failing to qualify for the Champions League next season.
Clement Lenglet impressed this season - a Champions League horror show against Liverpool aside.
