Man United: Woodward could STOP De Ligt deal says expert
Manchester United are keen to snare De Ligt from under the noses of Barcelona, who have long been tipped to secure the services of the Holland international.
The Holland international starred for Ajax this season, helping the Eredivisie giants win the league title and reach the semi-finals of the Champions League.
Manchester United have also been linked with a move for De Ligt’s team-mate Ziyech, who has a low release clause of just £25million this summer.
A Red Devils fan account yesterday tweeted that United had agreed a deal to sign both players - citing a EPN Brazil report that doesn’t exist.
And fans have refused to fall for the transfer claim.
The initial tweet said: “ESPN Brazil reporting that Matthijs De Ligt & Hakim Ziyech have both agreed Deals With @ManUtd With A Fee Of £110M with Add Ons. #MUFC.
“If that is true that's an absolute bargain.”
And fans have refused to take the bait, with one saying: “If it was true it would be great but…yeah.
