Man Utd news: Solskjaer transfer blow after PSG striker turns down move to Old Trafford
MANCHESTER UNITED transfer target Edison Cavani would turn down a move to Old Trafford, as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men aren’t playing in next season’s Champions League, it’s been reported.
“All good things come to an end,” it said. “Even when you are the top scorer in the history of PSG.
“Still, Cavani is obviously careful to open the door, aware of the premium conditions which he benefits from in Paris [£16million per year]. But the Uruguayan could be tempted by a last adventure elsewhere.
“Manchester United [could be a destination], but the Red Devils will not play the Champions League next year, an element that counts for a player of this age still at the top European level.”
Any deal for the striker could be worth around €50million (£44million).

It had previously been reported that Cavani was looking for a move to the Premier League.
Chelsea and United have long been linked with the forward.
But, with Chelsea’s transfer embargo unlikely to be lifted, United would have appeared to be the likely destination.
He could also be in line for a move back to Napoli, where he scored 78 goals in 104 appearances between 2010 and 2013.

Meanwhile, United have already looked into the possibility of signing a number of players as Solskjaer looks to overhaul the current squad.
Griezmann has emerged as a surprise target for the Red Devils, after his move to Barcelona appears to have stalled.
Ajax starlet Matthijs de Ligt has also been linked to the club, but it’s unlikely that he’ll make the move to Old Trafford without Champions League football.
Solskjaer has also reportedly been pushing to buy midfielder Sean Longstaff, but Newcastle have insisted he’s not for sale.
