UEFA have somehow formulated a system where all of the leagues in Europe have been given a difficulty rating.
According to the UEFA coefficients list, goals scored by players who play their football, in Spain, England, France, Germany and Italy will have their season tallies multiplied by a factor of two.

Goals scored by players who play in the countries ranked six to 21, which includes the Holland and Portugal, will be multiple by 1.5.
Goals scored in the leagues ranked below 22 will be multiplied by a factor of one.
So with 34 goals in La Liga and as things stand, Messi sits atop of the leaderboard with 68 points.
