Evans at 31 year-old is now a Premier League veteran and the defender admitted having Ferguson as his manager is something that has stuck with him throughout his career.
The Northern Ireland international is now at Leicester, but he had his breakout season with the Red Devils back in 2008.
Evans recalled he didn’t understand everything that was conveyed to him by Ferguson at the time, however, as his career developed the “life lessons” provided by the Scotsman is something, which has stayed with him.
“He was old school but it was great to have that,” Evans said about Sir Alex.

“Even now there are certain situations where I think ‘Would he have liked me to do that?’
“It’s kind of a guideline. “
Evans claimed Ferguson, who is United’s most successful manager after winning 38 trophies during his 26-year spell with the club, wasn’t actually as strict a boss he was made out by many to be.
“It’s like having a teacher at school who was stricter than the rest but you remember things they might have said,” Evans explained.

“Sir Alex was the same.”
Evans won multiple silverware during his time at United, including three Premier League titles, and he felt Ferguson wanted his players to express themselves.
He also claimed the former United boss gave players a lot of freedom, as long as they didn’t break the rules.
“The thing with Ferguson was he never ever came across as strict,” Evans added.
