‘Oh my gosh, what have I just seen?’ - Gary Neville left shocked during Man Utd vs PSG
MANCHESTER UNITED legend Gary Neville was left shocked at Paris Saint-Germain’s second goal against his former side on Tuesday.
Kylian Mbappe doubled PSG’s lead in the first leg of the Champions League last-16 tie.
The France international burst into the box and was found with an inch-perfect cross from Angel Di Maria.
Replays showed Mbappe was a long distance behind Manchester United centre-backs Eric Bailly and Victor Lindelof moments before the goal.
But his turn of pace meant he beat both Bailly and Lindelof to the ball and poked past goalkeeper David De Gea.
And all of a sudden he just went vroom and it was like ‘oh my gosh, what have I just seen?’
Gary Neville was watching the game from the stands and could not believe what he saw from Mbappe.
“Mbappe’s burst of pace into the box, we were sat there right above it,” he told beIN SPORTS.
“He had I think about five yards to make up on Lindelof.
“And all of a sudden he just went vroom and it was like ‘oh my gosh, what have I just seen?’.
“Obviously I’ve seen him live before but it was incredible and Di Maria saw the run.
“It was a special goal.”
PSG will take a 2-0 aggregate lead into the second leg on March 6.
And Neville believes the tie is already over.
“No Neymar and no [Edinson] Cavani tonight, so they [United] can’t complain,” he added.
“They were outclassed, Paris Saint-Germain were the better team and the tie now looks beyond Manchester United.
“I thought Paris Saint-Germain deserved the 2-0 victory.”
