Man Utd news: Why players would rather play for United than Arsenal and Chelsea - Rosenior
MANCHESTER UNITED’s current form under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer now means players would rather play for them than Chelsea and Arsenal.
That is the opinion of Sky Sports pundit and former Hull defender Liam Rosenior.
Solskjaer was appointed Manchester United interim boss in December to replace the sacked Jose Mourinho.
The Norwegian has had a dream start to managerial life at Old Trafford, winning his first seven matches in all competitions.
Six of those wins have come in the Premier League to narrow the gap on the top four to four points.
I’d rather be in Manchester United’s camp than Chelsea or Arsenal’s at the moment
United are now level on points with fifth-placed Arsenal and are breathing down the neck of Chelsea in fourth.
Rosenior believes there is now a great chance United will finish above both Chelsea and Arsenal and finish in the final Champions League qualification spot.
And he says the attacking style of United under Solskjaer means players would prefer to pull on the Red Devils jersey ahead of Chelsea and Arsenal’s.
“I think Manchester United have just as good a chance now as Chelsea and Arsenal [to finish in the top four],” Rosenior said.
“If you look at it now, what club would you rather be at in terms of momentum out of Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United?
“I look at the players as well. The form players for Manchester United are all the front players.
“Chelsea are struggling for goals, [Alexandre] Lacazette and [Pierre-Emerick] Aubameyang are top players [for Arsenal].
“But I think [Marcus] Rashford has been an absolute revelation in the last few weeks.
“I’d rather be in Manchester United’s camp than Chelsea or Arsenal’s at the moment.”
Arsenal and United go head to head in the FA Cup fourth round at the Emirates on Friday evening.
Chelsea face Championship side Sheffield Wednesday at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
