Liverpool news: Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino takes swipe at Jurgen Klopp
LIVERPOOL boss Jurgen Klopp is the centre of a thinly veiled dig from Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino.
The Reds are away in Dubai training this week after being dumped out of the FA Cup by Wolves in the third round.
That means Liverpool have no game this weekend before they return to Premier League action next Wednesday.
And Tottenham boss Pochettino has disputed his squad is any weaker than Klopp’s or Manchester City’s as they are still fighting on four fronts.
“I saw Liverpool is now in Dubai and all the pundits say Liverpool have the best squad with Manchester City,” he said.
“We are still involved in four competitions, what happens tomorrow and what happens Sunday (in the FA Cup fourth round at Crystal Palace) I am still happy with my squad.”
Pochettino has also admitted he could make a move in the January transfer window.
“It is so clear, I am so open to improve the squad and add a player if Harry Kane and Dele Alli are fit or not fit,” he said.
“I was open in the summer and I am open now.
Liverpool: Salah’s diving ‘may work against him’ says former ref
“The difficult thing is to find quality that will add to the squad.
“We are not going to change strategy, we are working, we will see what happens at the end.”
Tottenham take on Chelsea tomorrow night in the second leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final.
Spurs lead 1-0 from the first game at Wembley.
After the match against Chelsea, Spurs take on Crystal Palace on Sunday in the FA Cup.
Tottenham currently sit nine points behind Premier League leaders Liverpool.
Pochettino is currently dealing with an injury crisis with Harry Kane and Dele Alli out of action.
Son Heung-min is also away at the Asia Cup leaving Tottenham with limited options.
