Barcelona arrange FINAL Ousmane Dembele meeting as Arsenal, Chelsea and PSG eye striker
BARCELONA bosses will have one last meeting with Ousmane Dembele to try and iron out problems with the sought-after forward.
Barcelona: ESPN pundit discusses problematic Dembele
Arsenal, Chelsea and PSG are said to be interested in taking Dembele off Barcelona’s hands.
The striker was two hours late for training on Friday in the latest misdemeanour to fall during his time in Barca.
Dembele is said to be disenfranchised with life at Barcelona and there are claims he could seek a January exit.
But Barcelona-based newspaper Mundo Deportivo say the club are working hard to resolve Dembele’s issues.
As reported earlier this week, Barca’s top brass have already spoken to Dembele’s representatives Moussa Sissoko and Marco Lichtsteiner.
But an impasse between the club and the player seems to remain and Barca are determined to sort it out.
Mundo Deportivo claim a meeting with Dembele, Pep Segura and technical secretary Eric Abidal has been penned in.
The aim is to resolve lingering issues Dembele has.
The striker only joined Barcelona in the summer of 2017 in a £138m deal from Borussia Dortmund.
He was seen as a long-term replacement for Neymar, who quit the club for PSG that summer.
But a hamstring injury severely hampered Dembele’s development at the Nou Camp last season and he remains on the periphery of manager Ernesto Valverde’s side.
Mundo Deportivo claim Arsenal, Chelsea and PSG would all make a move for Dembele if he became available in January.
Arsenal are NOT going to sign Dembele, expert says
But Barca are determined to prevent such an exit and have remained defiant over their valuation of the playmaker.
While Arsenal, Chelsea and PSG are all supposedly willing to pay no more than £126m (€140m) for Dembele, Barca are hiding behind his release clause.
The report claims Barca will not accept anything less than an eye-watering £360m (€400m) to sell their young gem.
Dembele, 21, has scored eight goals for Barcelona this season.
He has played five games for France since the World Cup, having played a bit-part role in their triumph in Russia during the summer.
