Liverpool news: Virgil van Dijk tipped for 'dream move' to Barcelona or Real Madrid
VIRGIL VAN DIJK is being tipped to fulfil his boyhood dream and make Barcelona his next move in football.
Liverpool: Klopp laughs off van Dijk 'best defender' claims
The £75million Liverpool star defender revealed to team-mates at Groningen seven years ago that the Nou Camp would be his “eventual goal”.
And Kris Commons, who played with Van Dijk, 27, in his two seasons at Celtic, is in no doubt that he will move finally to either Barcelona or Real Madrid.
He said: “You could see how good he was straight away. Virgil took us to another level. He had everything.
“He had to move on and left with everyone’s blessings.
I can’t see why Real, Barca or PSG wouldn’t come in for him
“I rate him alongside Sergio Ramos. Liverpool are a massive club but in terms of getting players, Madrid and Barca are above them.
“I can’t see why Real, Barca or PSG wouldn’t come in for him.”
Van Dijk helped Liverpool go top of the Premier League on Saturday as they beat Bournemouth 4-0 and Manchester City fell to defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
And Jamie Redknapp reckons Van Dijk was so imperious that he’ll be able to wear the same kit later in the week.
“They're purring right now, and if they can get through on Tuesday, keep going in the Premier League, they can hang onto Man City's coat-tails,” Redknapp told Sky Sports.
“Virgil van Dijk can wear his kit on Tuesday night, it was that clean.
“Liverpool never got out of second gear, it was so comfortable in possession.
"When you've got a player like Salah, he can take a game away from any team.”
