Arsenal news: Tony Adams makes huge claim over Aaron Ramsey's next club
ARSENAL star Aaron Ramsey is performing well because he is trying to attract the best club possible for when he leaves the Gunners at the end of the season.
Aaron Ramsey should go to Juventus claims pundit
That is the view of legendary former Arsenal and England captain Tony Adams.
Aaron Ramsey is out of contract at the Emirates at the end of the current campaign.
Arsenal withdrew their offer of an extension to the Welshman earlier this season and have no intentions of returning with another.
Ramsey has struggled to gain a regular spot in the team of late and has had to settle for cameo roles off the bench.
He’s obviously playing really well because he is a free at the end of the season
But he has impressed when he has played, registering six assists in the Premier League ahead of the trip to Manchester United on Wednesday.
Ramsey started that match and was named captain by Arsenal boss Unai Emery.
And just ahead of kick off, Adams was asked about Ramsey’s form and his contract situation.
“He’s obviously playing really well because he is a free at the end of the season,” he said on BT Sport.
“He’s trying to get himself the best club possible isn’t he.
“It’s a bit of a weird situation that.”
Adams has also discussed the impact of Emery since replacing Arsene Wenger in the summer.
“The coach is obviously a lot different from Arsene,” Adams said.
“He just concentrates on the team now and he’s getting them motivated.
“I would have taken seventh or sixth to be honest with you, don’t get me wrong, it’s a transitional year.
“The new coach has come in, there’s a hell of a lot of changes, the structure’s changed.
“You speak to everyone at Arsenal at the moment he’s completely not interested in the club, the training ground, all the development side that Arsene did.”
