MANCHESTER UNITED’s only have a chance of beating Arsenal on Wednesday because the game is at Old Trafford.
Arsenal: Pundits back Gunners to THRASH United
That is according to ESPN FC pundit and former Liverpool and Scotland defender Steve Nicol.
Arsenal head into the match against Manchester United as favourites in many pundits’ eyes.
However, they have failed to win a Premier League match at Old Trafford since a 1-0 win in 2006.
Arsenal have also often been criticised for failing to perform away at the so-called big six in the English top flight.
The only thing is it’s away from home. Can they do this in a so-called big game?
The only previous match of that kind in Emery’s reign so far was a 3-2 loss at Chelsea back in August.
Nicol says that gives United a chance but he is still backing Arsenal to come away with the points.
“It’s very difficult to go against Arsenal,” he said.
“The only thing is it’s away from home. Can they do this in a so-called big game?
Emery says Man United match will be a ‘challenge’ for Arsenal
“We’re talking about eighth and fourth here, a so-called big game.
“I’m going to go Arsenal.”
Nicol’s colleague and former West Ham goalkeeper Shaka Hislop is also backing Arsenal to get the job done.
“Not just when you look at the form that Arsenal come into this game in, but you look at the problems that Manchester United have,” Hislop said.
“Injury issues as well for Jose Mourinho to deal with, if things weren’t bad enough.
“I think Arsenal go to Old Trafford and win this game.
"I think probably comfortably at 2-0.”
Mesut Ozil did not travel with the Arsenal squad that flew to Manchester on Wednesday.
