Arsenal news: ‘He could be another Premier League SUPERSTAR’ - Jamie Carragher revelation
JAMIE CARRAGHER has revealed there is one player he believes could become a Premier League great.
Arsenal came from behind to win one of the most memorable north London derbies in recent history.
The Gunners led through Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang before Eric Dier and Harry Kane gave Tottenham the lead.
But another strike from Aubameyang plus goals from Alexandre Lacazette and Lucas Torreira capped a superb afternoon for Unai Emery’s team.
After the game Jamie Carragher made a huge claim about the Gabonese striker.
“I think he could be a superstar in the Premier League that man,” Carragher told Sky Sports.
“We don’t speak about him enough as [Harry] Kane or [Sergio] Aguero.
“He’s going under the radar in terms of the Premier League.
“He was always thought of as one of the best strikers at Borussia Dortmund but when he came in last January in the Wenger era his conversion rate was as good as anyone in the Premier League.
“When they brought Lacazette in, I’ve always thought he was a good player but I look at this guy [Aubameyang] and think he’s a great player.
“It’s only twelve months in, he is 29 but we could be talking about one of the great strikers.”
Mesut Ozil was left out of the squad for the match.
The club released a statement before the match stating that the German had picked up a back spasm.
Before the game Emery even admitted that he didn’t know how he picked up the problem.
There has been talk that the 30-year-old has fallen out with the boss.
Ozil congratulated his team mates on Twitter after the match as they claimed the North London bragging rights.
