Arsenal news: Aaron Ramsey makes HUGE Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang claim
AARON RAMSEY says Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang reminds him of Arsenal legend Thierry Henry.
Arsenal fans praise Aubameyang after Spurs clash
Aubameyang scored twice as Arsenal ran out 4-2 winners against Tottenham in the north London derby at the Emirates on Sunday.
He opened the scoring from the penalty spot before Eric Dier and Harry Kane replied to put the visitors 2-1 in front.
Aubameyang then scored a sublime curled second from outside of the box, before Alexandre Lacazette and Lucas Torreira made sure of the win.
Ramsey played a starring role himself with two assists to turn the game on its head after coming off the bench at half-time.
But he reserved special praise for Aubameyang by comparing with the Gunners all-time leading scorer.
"He does that in training all the time,” he said of the Gabon star’s second goal.
“It reminds me of Thierry Henry's finishes. He's been fabulous for us."
Aubameyang now has ten goals in the Premier League this season and leads the scoring charts ahead of Manchester City's Raheem Sterling, who has eight.
But the goal that capped a fine afternoon for Arsenal in front of their own fans came from an unlikely source, with Torreira grabbing his first since signing from Sampdoria in the summer.
The defensive midfielder showed excellent composure to drill into the far corner from a tight angle.
The Uruguayan celebrated wildly after his strike and Ramsey said he knew that was the goal that would win the game.
The result meant the Gunners leapfrogged their cross-town rivals into fourth spot on goal difference.
"I think that was important for us to score that goal,” Ramsey added.
“Then you could really feel that the atmosphere was electric. That really helped us to get over the line and win convincingly in the end.
"I have been here for many many years, it means an awful lot to me and to the fans as well.
“I am glad I played my part and we can all go home happy tonight.
“They could have gone six points in front of us but instead we've gone above them.
“The atmosphere was electric, that really helped us over the line in the end."
