Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang shows scenes inside Arsenal dressing room after Tottenham win
ARSENAL forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang gave fans a glimpse of the scenes inside the home dressing room after the Gunners defeated Tottenham 4-2 in the north London derby.
Arsenal celebrate their win against Tottenham
It was Aubameyang who opened the scoring in a six-goal thriller at The Emirates Stadium when he sent Hugo Lloris the wrong way from the penalty spot after Jan Vertonghen clumsily handled the ball from a free-kick.
Animosity between the fans was ignited when Aubameyang and his team-mates did not go out of their way to avoid the corner flag, by which the Spurs fans were situated, in their celebrations.
Eric Dier returned the favour 20 minutes later when he headed home and proceeded to shush the home fans, sparking handbags between both sets of players.
Tottenham talisman Harry Kane then put the visitors ahead from the spot after Rob Holding brought down Heung-min Son in the area.
This was a very big victory, we give our supporters this victory because it’s a special match
Aubameyang netted 10 minutes after the break with a superbly-weighted curled effort which left Lloris wrong-footed - his 10th strike of the season, making him the Premier League’s top scorer.
Alexandre Lacazette and Lucas Torreira then collected three points for the Gunners who, with their tails up, could not be tamed by Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
The celebrations after the third and fourth goals were among the most electric The Emirates has seen, and the party continued into the home dressing room.
Aubameyang shared a video on his Instagram story which shows the Arsenal players shouting towards the camera in a tribal manner.
Arsenal have leapfrogged their north London rivals after the win, sitting one place above them on goal difference, with both sides taking 30 points from the opening 14 games.
Unai Emery refused to get overexcited after the win, however, firmly switching his attention to Old Trafford on Wednesday night.
“Now I am thinking about the match on Wednesday,” he said in his post-match press conference.
“This was a very big victory, we give our supporters this victory because it’s a special match for them.
“It’s special as well for us, but it’s three points - like in Bournemouth last weekend.
“We need to continue in our process. Today, for our confidence was a big match.
“We know it’s very difficult in Manchester. In history and in the present.
“We want to prepare in the best possible way to have the best performance.”
