And according to Sky Sports pundit Graeme Souness, Shaqiri gives Klopp something different in midfield.
“He sees a pass and he’s got wonderful technique,” he said before the match on Sky Sports.
“With him in the team you have to be dominating the ball.
“He gives you something different to what [James] Milner gives you or what [Jordan] Henderson gives you in terms of getting the ball back.
“His strengths are further up the park, when you’re dominating get him on the ball and he’ll pick a pass and he’s got an eye for goal.”
