And Catalan newspaper Mundo Deportivo say Liverpool are currently leading the race to sign Rabiot.
Barcelona are aware of the Reds’ desire to sign the player.
They feel they are favourites but, in a stunning twist, it is claimed Liverpool have made ‘a very powerful’ offer to secure Rabiot’s signature.
Fabinho, ironically, could play a part in any potential transfer.
Liverpool only signed him from Monaco back in the summer, paying £42million.

However, he is reportedly disillusioned with life at Anfield and keen to leave.
Should PSG, who wanted him in the summer, reignite their interest that may pave the way for Rabiot to join.
But what happens remains to be seen.
As well as Rabiot, Liverpool have been backed to sign a striker to jostle with Daniel Sturridge and Roberto Firmino for a starting berth.
But Klopp insists the Reds are set for a relaxed January transfer window.

"If crazy things happen then maybe we have to think new but I don't expect that,” Klopp said.
"At the moment it doesn't look like we will be too busy but it all depends on injuries and things like that. In the moment we have each position twice, three times and sometimes four times covered.
"I don't think there is any reason to try to do something really big like bring in another striker.
"We have all that we need.
“Our job now is to use the quality that we have and to work with it because one player doesn't change it.”
