Mo Salah is a 'one season wonder' says Craig Burley
Liverpool forward Salah struck a brace as the Reds thumped Red Star Belgrade 4-0 in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
The Egypt international did, however, refused to celebrate, instead adopt a stony-faced impression as the rest of his team-mates ran towards him.
It has been a tricky second season at Liverpool for Salah, who blitzed 44 goals last term upon signing from Serie A giants Roma in the summer of 2017.
And Warnock, who rose up through the Anfield academy and made 67 appearances before leaving for Blackburn in 2006, believes Salah’s sulky demeanour was down to sheer relief.
“I think it was relief,” Quest pundit Warnock told Express Sport when asked about the muted celebrations.
“It was probably his way of letting some steam out.
“A lot has been written and said about him this season but he’s still a huge asset for Liverpool.
“Against Huddersfield at the weekend, he scored and it looked as if the heavens might open.
“They didn’t then but scoring twice will be good to get the confidence up.

“He’s going to play a key role this season.”
Liverpool are gunning for the Premier League title this season, following a shrewd summer in the transfer market.
The Reds have enjoyed a positive start, winning seven of their first nine matches.
They have only dropped points against fellow title contenders Manchester City and Chelsea.
But Warnock has expressed concern that City may be too strong to catch - again.
